2021 Holiday Party

Updated: Jan 3, 2022

Sunday, December 12th was a warm sunny day with abundant blue skies making the journey to Metamora very pleasant. Our Holiday Party was held at the White Horse Inn, an historic building dating back to 1848. The village of Metamora and the White Horse Inn were the topic of a trivia quiz designed to inject some local history into our day of celebration. The winners of the quiz were Gary Cunningham (1st place) and Bob Majetek (2nd place). Each received a Michigan Great Lakes coffee mug and Michigan made hot drink mixes to enjoy later.

We had three new members attending this event. They were Heidi and Darryl Lesnesky, Mihaela and Robert Charlier and Ken and Lisa Goldman. Teresa Klotz welcomed them and asked each to make a quick introduction including their choice of Jaguar.

After our buffet luncheon, topped off with warm chocolate chip cookies and brownies, we drew names of two people who were presented with gift baskets from the Heart of Michigan store in Howell. The gift baskets went to Sharon Skupny and Mark Griffith.

In keeping with the club’s tradition, we collected toys and monetary donations for ‘Marines Toys for Tots’ to help support the mission of bringing Christmas cheer to America’s less fortunate children. The monetary donations were in excess of $1,000.

The noise level in our private dinning room indicated that many people were catching up with old friends and starting to make a few new ones. Everyone appeared to have a good time together as we closed a successful 2021 and look forward to an even better 2022.
